All The King's Men
Notes
Use the old Heretic-Lleech jinx: if the Lleech hosts the Heretic and then dies, the Heretic remains poisoned v1.6: I wanted to increase the focus on the Storm Caught King for this iteration. I feel that the No Dashii, which has no mobility, would benefit greatly from being able to claim King. Imp also allows for a Minion who took the King bluff to become the Demon eventually. I disliked Fang Gu for this reason: they could never claim King without accidentally jumping. This script features a King with no Choirboy! The Choirboy is absolutely unnecessary on this script, as the King is Stormcaught and can never be killed by the Demon. Built around the description and confirmed characters for Midnight in the House of the Damned, this script showcases some of my favorite interactions with the King, such as Heretic, Legion, Poppy Grower, and more. The supporting cast on the good team is also incredibly powerful, featuring some heavy-hitting information roles in Balloonist, General, VI, and Savant. On top of that, the Librarian, Pixie, and Cannibal can create unstoppable confirmation chains, while the Alchemist, Farmer, and Poppy Grower have unique abilities to combat the evil team. In particular, the Alchemist has plenty of interesting choices here: an Alch-Xaan obscures the Outsider count from the evil team, an Alch-Boffin can give the Demon the Damsel ability in a Poppy Grower game, etc. On the other hand, the Outsiders on this script are frighteningly quiet: a careless Librarian or Balloonist can spell doom for the good team with the Damsel, Heretic, and Fang Gu on script. The evil team is unique as well, featuring semi-loud Minions that don't de-confirm Legion instantly; the Alchemist also provides some cover for this. Each serves a unique purpose: the Xaan can provide just enough misinformation to confound the good team, the Wizard and Goblin can cause extra confusion and paranoia, and the Boffin can give the Demon the keys to win the game. The script's triple demon core is also terrifying. The Fang Gu provides nearly unmatched mobility and makes being an Outsider even more terrifying, the Lleech can hide stealthily and its durability can flip the game on its head when it's too late, and Legion can bluff almost everything else on the script, including Harpy-madness and Goblin claims. At the end of the day, this is a wacky, chaotic script reminiscent of Midnight in the House of the Damned. The characters are all extremely powerful, and it creates for an intense, action-packed game. This script showcases the power of the King if it can live until the final day. I hope you enjoy!
