Strangelove
Notes
Hello! This is my first published script, Strangelove, a script centered around the Boomdandy. This script is designed to maximize paranoia surrounding a Boomdandy detonation, with other Evil characters heightening the fear factor. In particular, the suite of Demons staring down the town forces Good players to execute living and dead players they might not usually want to get rid of, for fear of the game getting away from them. And the risk of the Boomdandy tricking town and going out in a blaze of glory is low... but it is never zero. But that is not to say that the Good team must simply run on instincts and vibes; the Good team has plenty of power to defuse the situation and bring safety to Ravenswood Bluff. In addition, the Boomdandy might narrow the game down to as few as two living players... or as many as five! My advice is threefold: stop fearing, love the bomb, and please enjoy! Engineer (Townsfolk) â Alsaahir (Townsfolk) The Engineer is being removed after further playtesting, largely because it is capable of defeating the purpose of the script. It has a purpose in the power struggle and the disarming and rearming of the bomb, along with characters such as the Preacher and Plague Doctor, but unlike those characters, it gives a bit too much agency and leads to semi-unbalanced results. It is being replaced by the Alsaahir who itself can disarm the Evil team on a more permanent basis by giving the Good team an alternate win condition of their own. It also introduces a new layer of social gameplay where Evil candidates, and in particular Boomdandy candidates, have to play a more subtle game to get their way. Hatter (Outsider) â Barber (Outsider) Early playtesting of this script revealed significant oversight in the ability for the Hatter, upon their death, to drastically slow down games by creating Zombuul games where they are impractical. As such, the Barber has been introduced in its place to continue to allow the Evil team some movement and flexibility without creating an unbalanced or unenjoyable field of play.
