One or more players each have a goal. When achieved, that player learns a piece of true info.
The universe is a verb not a noun, they say, and it is turtles, turtles all the way down. Turtles all the way down, my friend, turtles all the way down.
"One or more players each have a goal. When achieved, that player learns a piece of true info." The Zenomancer gives mini quests. One or more players may be given goals by the Storyteller. These goals are given privately. They may be given goals at the beginning of the game, or at some time during the game. Different players may be given goals at different times. A goal can be anything. It can be something to do with the game, or something beyond the game. The Storyteller is the judge of when a goal is achieved. When this happens, the player learns one piece of information about the game. This is true even if they are drunk or poisoned, since this is due to the Zenomancer, not their character. Goals may clash, or may not be achieved. Usually, 1 to 3 goals will be given throughout the game, and most goals will be given at the beginning of the game. Players may bluff that they have been given goals, or bluff that they have achieved a goal. Any player may be given a goal, even Travellers and dead players.

If a player is mad as a fresh character during their nomination, they might not die if executed today.
Well, folks, gather ‘round! This here’s my pal Charlie, and he’s got a mouth on him that’d make a mule blush. But don’t worry folks, I do all the talkin’... or do I?
"If a player is mad as a fresh character during their nomination, they might not die if executed today." The Ventriloquist rewards players for lying about who they are. Being "mad as a fresh character" means to claim to be a character that is different to a character that you have previously claimed to be. A player benefits from the Ventriloquist only if they are mad as a fresh character during the time that they are nominated. It doesn't matter what their real character is. Players may be mad as a fake character then later mad as their real character, mad as their real character then later mad as a fake character, or mad as two fake characters. If the player does not die, they learn this after the execution happens. They don't learn whether it was due to the Ventriloquist or not. The Storyteller judges whether the player is mad or not, and might let them die even if they were convincingly mad. This can protect the Demon, but the Storyteller will not protect the Demon if that means that evil wins. A player is only protected from dying on the same day that they were mad as a fresh character.

The Storyteller assigns all players' characters.
When sophistry becomes stupidity and hypocrisy cruelty, retreat to the garden. The final love of old men is flowers and stones.
"The Storyteller assigns 1 or more players' characters." Use the Gardener to assign characters to particular players. After the Storyteller has put the Gardener into play, they can manually assign and edit which characters are going to be given to which seated players before sending them out. If a player has an issue with a particular character, you may use the Gardener to affect setup so that player doesn’t draw the relevant token. The Gardener can also be useful if a particular player has drawn evil many times over a single session. The Gardener is designed for use in the official app only.

There are duplicate good characters in play. They might also be bluffs.
...Pulcherrimae.
"There are duplicate good characters in play. They might also be bluffs." The Pope creates duplicate character claims. A Townsfolk or an Outsider, or both, have multiple copies in play. There may be one character that has multiple copies in play, or multiple characters that have multiple copies in play. There may be 2 characters that are the same, or as many as the Storyteller has tokens to accommodate. These characters might be a part of the 3 bluffs given to the Demon. The Storyteller will need multiple copies of the game, or at least some way to access identical character tokens, in order to run this character... for now. Duplicate Outsider characters may cause an unusual number of Outsiders. Duplicate Townsfolk characters may not.

The first 4 players to die are immediately reincarnated as Travellers of the same alignment.
चत्वारो मृत्युमध्ये पतन्ति, चत्वारो यात्री पुनरुद्गताः। चत्वारो धर्मे स्थितचित्तवृत्तेः, चत्वार एषां न पुनः क्षयः॥
"The first 4 players to die are immediately reincarnated as Travellers of the same alignment." The Hindu gives players that die early a new life. The first four players to die become Travellers. It doesn’t matter how the players died. The Storyteller chooses which Traveller the player becomes. This is different to the normal rule that players choose their Traveller. The players’ alignment stays the same as it was before death. If the script has five recommended Travellers, the Storyteller chooses from those. Death is never simultaneous. For example, if the Shabaloth kills two players at night, it kills one, then the other. If the Demon is one of the first four players to die, the game ends and good wins.

There are 2 Storytellers: one lies & one tells the truth. Once per game, at dusk, they might switch.

Players don't know their character or alignment. They learn them when they die.
With thunder as my voice and lightning as my blade, I, the eternal guardian, feast upon the fools who dare approach the forbidden gate. Behold, my sacred goal! To purge the beetle from the belly of the rocky earth, to ensnare it in a net of stars, on the hilltop where heaven meets earth.
"Players don't know their character or alignment. They learn them when they die." Tor removes all knowledge of who is who. Players do not know which character they are. Players do not draw tokens from the bag. The Storyteller puts them directly in the Grimoire at the start of the game. Character abilities work as normal. Players are woken and prompted to use their ability if needed. When a player dies, they learn their character and alignment. Even if they are drunk or poisoned, this information is correct. The Demon and Minions do not know each other.

This script has homebrew characters or rules.
When I was born, I was named ‘Homebrewy McHomebrewface’, like my father before me. A respectable name, for a dignified age.
"This script has homebrew characters or rules." Add the Bootlegger to include homebrew characters or rules. The Bootlegger allows Storytellers to use characters they, or others, have created that are not official characters or allows them to use non-standard rules in the game. If there are homebrew characters on the character sheet, or homebrew rules in effect, the Storyteller tells all players what they are before play begins. The Bootlegger allows for multiple characters or rules to be in effect at once. As long as there is at least one homebrew character on the current script, this Loric will be in play and can only be removed by switching to a script that does not contain any homebrew characters. The Bootlegger is designed for use in the official app only. Bootlegger, despite many claims to the contrary, defeated Homebrewy McHomebrewface, “the people’s choice”, in a hotly contested poll to decide the Loric's name.

Name a good character. If in play, they can only die by execution, but evil players learn which player it is.
At dawn, the temple’s long shadow creeps to the fountain. At dusk, the obelisk blocks the red glare, cooling warm water under the archway. All lines converge here. A storm is coming, and this, this pebbled and lush and holy place between the apple trees, is the eye.
"Name a good character. If in play, they can only die by execution, but evil players learn which player it is." Use the Storm Catcher to focus the game on a particular good character. If you want to construct a script based around the actions or information of one particular good character, if you want to have this character in every game (or at least have an evil player bluffing as this character), you can use the Storm Catcher. Your chosen character will play a big part in the game, will be the focus of a lot of group discussion, and will probably live until the final day. The Storyteller declares that one character can’t die, unless by execution. This character may be in play, or not in play. If it is in play, this good player lives as long as the good players want them to, since evil players cannot kill them. If it is not in play, all evil players learn this, so any evil player can easily bluff as this character. (They don’t have to, but they can.)

Each nominee chooses a player: until voting, only they may speak & they are mad the nominee is good or they might die.
Vanity asks ‘Is it popular?’ Cowardice asks ‘Is it safe?’ Conscience asks ‘Is it right?’ Who among us will ask: ‘Is it true?’
"Each nominee chooses a player: until voting, only they may speak & they are mad the nominee is good or they might die." The Big Wig gives nominees a defence lawyer. When nominated, that player must choose a player to speak on their behalf. They may choose living or dead players. Other players are not allowed to speak during this period. This includes the nominated player. If necessary, the Storyteller may use the Hell’s Librarian to enforce this. If the chosen player is mad that the nominee is evil, or not mad enough that the nominee is good, the Storyteller might kill that player. Being mad that ‘the nominee should not be executed’ might be similar enough to being mad that ‘the nominee is good’ to avoid being killed by the Storyteller. The Storyteller will make it obvious when the period of silence begins. It ends when voting begins. The player chosen by the nominee may vote for the nominee.
