BOOTLEGGER RULE: The Xaan doesn't poison the Poppy Grower. Please run the Poppy Grower's optional rule: "If the Poppy Grower becomes drunk, poisoned, or leaves play, Minions & Demons learn who each other are that night." Originally designed for the Ogre script competition, and then modified for the Boffin and later Xaan script competitions, Best Friends Forever features many interesting interactions with these 3 characters. The Ogre may become the friend of the Marionette or Lunatic and become their sole confidant at their most uncertain times, while a Boffin may give the Demon the tools they need to find their evil team in a Poppy Grower game. Meanwhile, the Xaan can try and deduce the Outsider count through the presence of the Snitch, or lack thereof, and can find out if a Lunatic is in play by talking to their Demon. Alongside this, if an Ogre manages to pick an evil, they can provide very helpful bluffing-space to hide or slide into the Outsider count and throw off the Xaan night. If the presence of Poppy Grower, Boffin, and Legion don’t make it already apparent, Best Friends Forever is an expert script in every sense of the word. The good team should consider the fringest of fringe worlds, and the evil team should work with their Storyteller to bring those worlds into effect. Both teams should walk the line of trust and distrust very carefully, as otherwise they risk unravelling every truth and lie in an instant. However, all it takes is for someone to just trust the right person… and they’d have no problems becoming Best Friends Forever. Now, for the story of the Demon, and, the Ogre. CHAPTER 1 - The Demon & The Ogre "Oh no, it's a Poppygrower game!" said the Demon. "hello" said the Ogre. CHAPTER 2 - The Search Begins "It's fine," says the Demon, "The Boffin gave me the Village Idiot ability so let's go find the rest of my team!" CHAPTER 3 - New Arrivals "Yo, waddup," a mysterious voice announces, "this Goblin claim over here is my amigo." The Demon looks on in shock. "Ogre," they say, "the Gnome is here." CHAPTER 4 - Revelations "Hey I know I'm claiming Goblin but I'm actually the Xaan, I believe Night X is 2." the Xaan theorised. "Well," the Demon jumped in, "I have an OGRE so X is probably 3." CHAPTER 5 - For Friendship (or Lack Thereof) "Plus," the Demon added, "I have a Lunatic as well!" The evil team cheered, and proceeded to march on, united. Meanwhile, in a cold and dark place... "Where. Is. My. TEAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMM." Screamed the Lunatic-Legion. No reply ever came.
