  • 1. You wake Edd and tell him that the Cerenovus no longer affects him. The Cerenovus's ability cannot get Edd executed tomorrow
  • 2. The Cerenovus's ability cannot get Edd executed tomorrow, but Edd does not know this
  • 3. Edd may still be executed tomorrow because of the Cerenovus's ability
  • 4. Edd laughs and laughs. Ben, his best friend turned nemesis, is dead. Then the laughter turns to tears. This is not what he wanted
Explanation
Dead players can also be affected by the Cerenovus, and may still be executed for breaking their madness. That can be quite useful, since executing a dead player ends the day and stops the town executing a living player that day.

But once the Cerenovus dies, the Cerenovus's ability is no longer in the game and cannot get a player executed.

The player who was affected that night, however, is never told that the Cerenovus has died.
